Responsibilities
Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions and concerns promptly and courteously, assist with gaming needs, inform customers of promotions, and promote selling behaviors during every transaction while prioritizing guests over tasks. Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases and returns accurately using the POS system; ensure correct changes, provide receipts, and maintain high standards of guest service. Respond to guest inquiries in person or by phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop benefits, such as reservation, trade-in, and Pro Rewards programs. Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates on company policies, procedures, and guidelines. Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed, ensuring alignment with guest service expectations. Provide recognition and feedback to associates; document performance in the Workday HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding and training for associates prior to opening or closing shifts, including knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocols, and ethics. Schedule store associates in collaboration with the Store Manager, manage breaks/meals, and supervise staffing to maintain exceptional guest service. Approve payroll, manage paid time off, and verify compensation for time worked. Maintain clean, organized store areas and ensure fixtures and equipment are in proper working order; fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily. Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages at closing as appropriate and communicate concerns to the Store Manager. Assist in meeting/exceeding sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete administrative duties. Perform inventory counts, restock merchandise, and ensure products are represented and organized on the sales floor. Manage daily closeout processes, reconcile transcripts, and ensure cash/change availability; handle bank deposits as required. Verify shipments, record discrepancies, and conduct inventories; communicate issues to management. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls accurately with proper labeling and packing lists. Maintain awareness of safety; report injuries per company guidelines. Maintain store records/files and ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to GameStop policies and procedures as described in the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct. Follow opening and closing procedures. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Key Skills
Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide genuine, individualized guest assistance during every visit. Clear verbal and written communication; English proficiency; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, independently and as part of a team. Meet performance expectations, including attendance, appearance, safety, and respectful workplace conduct. Operate POS system; basic mathematics and alphabetizing skills. Complete required paperwork and follow instructions in written, oral, or diagram form. Carry out financial tasks per company policy; flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays (minimum 3 days/week). Demonstrate reliability, judgment, and problem-solving under pressure; able to work alone and stand/move for extended periods. Physical ability to bend, stoop, reach, climb ladders, and lift up to 30 lbs. Compensation and Benefits
