The Government & Public Sector-Financial Accounting Advisory Services (GPS-FAAS) team is growing, and as a Senior Manager you will play a key role across Federal GPS sector service lines, developing goals that are creative and strategic, and delivering exceptional client experiences in a field with no off-the-shelf solutions. From strategy to execution, EY provides a full range of consulting and audit services to help Federal, State, Local and Education clients achieve mission outcomes. We enable government clients to protect the nation, deliver essential public services, improve healthcare for military personnel and citizens, and drive innovation. Responsibilities
Direct field work, inform supervisors of the audit engagement status and manage assurance staff performance Develop and maintain strong, productive relationships with audit client personnel, assess client satisfaction, and proactively maintain contact throughout the year Demonstrate a thorough understanding of complex accounting and auditing concepts and apply them to client situations Develop people through effective delegation of audit tasks and guidance to assurance staff Provide performance feedback, training and performance reviews for assurance staff Contribute ideas to assurance teams and listen to colleagues’ perspectives Foster an efficient, innovative, and team-oriented work environment Use technology to continually learn, share knowledge, and enhance service delivery Develop an understanding of EY service lines and encourage team members to identify opportunities to apply the firm’s services Collaborate with colleagues across multiple service lines and build relationships to benefit clients Travel regularly to meet with key clients, including some of the most respected in their fields Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business, with 7 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in Federal US GAAP U.S. CPA license in your work state Excellent project management skills Excellent communication and negotiation skills and a collaborative management approach A proven record of mentoring and improving a team of high-performing colleagues Dedication to teamwork and leadership Integrity within a professional environment Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance Must be willing to travel 25–30% or more in a hybrid work environment; work may be at client, EY, or contractor sites CGFM and/or CDFM (preferred) What We Look For
