Full Time Assistant Store Manager (Store 2710) at GameStop. Working with minimal supervision, the Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in all facets of store operations. The role uses elements of GameStop's buy, sell, trade, and reservation business model to develop a sales culture and provide outstanding guest service experiences through professional conduct and passion for gaming. The position is responsible for ensuring products are easy to see and buy, building sales by sharing product knowledge, maintaining a clean and organized store, and growing guest loyalty. This position supervises Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Responsibilities
Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests promptly, respond to questions/concerns quickly and courteously, assist with gaming needs, inform guests of promotions, recommend items, and circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests. Support the shopping environment, including visuals, operations, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns using the POS system accurately, issue receipts, and maintain high standards of guest service. Address guest comments/questions in person or by phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop guest benefits (e.g., new title reservations, trade-in, and Pro Rewards). Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates on policies and guidelines. Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed; align with company expectations. Provide recognition and feedback to associates; document performance in the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding and training for associates prior to opening or closing shifts; ensure knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethics. Schedule store associates to follow guidelines, manage breaks, and maintain optimal staffing for guest service. Approve payroll and manage time-off entries; verify pay for time worked. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in good working order. Ensure Omni-Channel orders are fulfilled and shipped daily. Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; conduct security checks as needed and report concerns to the Store Manager. Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties. Perform inventory counts, restock shelves, and ensure products are represented and alphabetized on the sales floor. Reconcile daily transaction totals, complete closeout paperwork, and manage cash and deposits according to guidelines. Verify shipments for discrepancies, record variances, and communicate issues to the Store Manager/District Manager. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls; ensure proper labeling and packing lists. Maintain safety awareness; report injuries per guidelines. Maintain store records/files and ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the Store Manager’s absence. Adhere to GameStop policies and the Associate Handbook; follow Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct. Follow opening and closing procedures. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Key Skills
Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide genuine and individualized guest assistance. Clear verbal and written communication; English proficiency; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in fast-paced environments and independently or in a team. Meet performance expectations, including attendance, safety, and professionalism. Operate POS system; basic math and prioritization skills. Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays (minimum 3 days/week). Ability to work under pressure and resolve problems creatively; reliable and trustworthy.
