Provide leadership in planning, implementing, marketing, and evaluating educational programs and activities with measurable impacts. Be a team player and support the total Extension program. Network with broad audiences, customers, volunteers, Extension Specialists, and the local Extension staff. Actively seek outside resources to enhance the program. Develop and implement innovative strategies for presenting educational programs. Provide leadership for the development, implementation, and evaluation of an effective livestock educational program to meet county needs. Demonstrate responsibility, self-motivation, and strong relationship skills with a background in livestock production and 4-H youth livestock development. Include responsibilities for forages as part of the program. Other Work/Responsibilities

Knowledge of cattle production (beef and dairy) and small livestock operations is necessary to address the county’s livestock education needs. Collaborate with 4-H staff and volunteers involved with youth livestock programming. Serve on the Haywood County Fair Planning Committee and coordinate all youth livestock and poultry shows for the annual county fair. Requirements and Qualifications

Work schedule: 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday. Nights and weekends as required. Minimum Experience/Education: one of the following: A Bachelor’s degree with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 overall or 3.0 in an agricultural or related field (waiver available for NCCE Program Associates with a Bachelor’s degree). A Bachelor’s degree and at least half of Master’s coursework with a 3.0 GPA or higher in an agricultural or related field. A Master’s degree with at least one degree in an agricultural or related field. Department Required Skills: Frequent travel within the county and occasional travel outside; strong background in livestock production and 4-H youth livestock development. Licenses, Certifications, and Driving

Valid NC Driver’s License required; Commercial Driver’s License not required; Physical requirement: No. Compensation and Recruitment
