Full Time Assistant Store Manager (Store 5469) at GameStop. Join to apply for the Full Time Assistant Store Manager role at GameStop. Position involves working with minimal supervision to support the Store Manager in all facets of store operations, developing a sales culture, and delivering outstanding guest service experiences. This role supervises Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the Store Manager’s absence. Responsibilities
Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests promptly, respond to questions/concerns, assist with gaming needs, inform guests of promotions, recommend items, and circulate throughout the store to prioritize guest experience. Support the total shopping environment including visual/operational elements and current sales initiatives; foster guest relationships leading to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns accurately using the POS system; handle transactions with accuracy and courtesy. Respond to guest questions in person or by phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager as needed. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits (e.g., reservations, trade-ins, Pro Rewards). Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates on policies and procedures. Observe performance, provide feedback, and address issues to ensure alignment with guest service standards. Provide recognition and feedback to associates; document performance in the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding and training for associates prior to opening/closing shifts; knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financials, and ethics. Schedule staff to meet guidelines; supervise to maintain optimum guest service; manage staffing levels. Approve payroll, manage paid time off, and verify time entries. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; ensure equipment is in working order. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders and manage daily shipping. Protect assets through inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages at closing as needed and report concerns. Support sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete administrative duties. Perform inventory counts, restock shelves, and ensure products are represented and organized. Balance daily transactions; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits per guidelines. Verify shipments, record discrepancies, and conduct inventories; communicate issues to management. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls promptly with proper labeling. Maintain safety awareness and report injuries per guidelines. Maintain neat records/files; keep manuals up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to associates in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to all policies, the Associate Handbook, and the Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct. Follow opening and closing procedures. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising or related field preferred. Retail management experience of at least 6 months preferred; 2 years of retail sales/guest service/management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Key Skills and Abilities
Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide genuine, individualized guest assistance; communicate clearly in English (bilingual English/Spanish preferred). Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; work independently and in a team; meet performance expectations. Operate the POS system; basic math and organizational skills; complete required paperwork accurately. Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays (minimum 3 days/week). Ability to work alone, stand/move for extended periods, and lift up to 30 lbs; navigate safety and ergonomic practices.
