Job Summary
We are seeking a results driven Inside Sales Manager to lead and evolve our inside sales and customer service operations. This role will manage a skilled team responsible for handling customer inquiries, generating quotes, processing orders, and ensuring a seamless customer experience from first contact through delivery. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, and field sales teams to provide technical solutions and drive business growth.
Principal Areas Of Responsibility
The position is responsible for all customer communication /order/ quoting /forecasts/ feedback. Order entry on new and modified existing orders through PK, Pipedrive, Order Book updates. Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
Manage and track all customer communications. All communications to be titled with part number in the subject line. All company communication to be downloaded through the CRM software Pipedrive and reviewed daily. Schedule changes made by the customer to be monitored and communicated with the site leader. Site leader will communicate any and all schedule changes to yourself and shared with customer and agreed upon prior to any firm changes. Manage customer update calls supported by email with part number subject title line and copied to the responsible party. List any and all issues with customer and/or with company, have specific action items and identify and share the owner of these action items with deadlines. Have any and all issues confirmed by customer/company that they have been resolved via the CRM software All request for quotes to be time managed by site leader through each department manager (Quality, Operations, Controller/Finance) Controller must provide updated quote with quote file of costs and present no less than 24 hours prior to deadline. No quotes are allowed to be a “no bid” unless approved by your manager. All quotes must be followed up on weekly calls with your manager. Monitor Customer Forecasts Delivery Metrics and Strategies Monitor the accuracy of forecast and demand and identify any and all changes immediately to your manager before any changes are acknowledged they must be approved. Share input on product development, manage all requests for quotes to be delivered on time and/or address any requested extensions with reason for extension approved by your manager. Manage the customer Portal with daily review and updates, updates are required by Operations Department for Promise Dates and Part/Kit Status, any and all “push-outs” and/or “pull-ins” must be approved by site lead and manager prior to any portal change acceptance. Kanban list will be added to order book. Monitor delivery status calls, promise dates, and pull-ins, review with site leader and/or manager tasks to update weekly.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field (or equivalent industry experience).
Work Experience
5+ years of experience in inside sales or customer service in an industrial manufacturing environment. 2+ years of leadership or team management experience.
Physical And Mental Demands
Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Knowledge of gear manufacturing, gearboxes, or precision-machined components a plus.
Requires superior interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with a strong sense of urgency, with the ability to handle confidential information. Strong analytical, time management and reasoning abilities. Results oriented with the ability to balance other business considerations. Must have a high energy level and the ability to interact with a variety of individuals both inside and outside the Company. Must have the ability to gather and disseminate accurate information and produce a quality work product. Requires the ability to make sound decisions and speak with confidence .
We are looking for someone assertive, passionate and diplomatic with the ability to achieve high quality results in an efficient and effective manner. The successful candidate needs to be a pro-active self-started that can work independently.
