Full Time Assistant Store Manager (Store 6606) at
GameStop . Working with minimal supervision, the Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in all facets of store operations and promotes a sales culture by delivering outstanding guest service experiences and knowledge of products. Responsibilities
Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions and concerns promptly and courteously; assist guests with gaming needs; inform guests of promotions; suggest additional items; apply selling behaviors during every transaction and thank guests for shopping at GameStop; circulate to support guests and the store environment. Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns accurately using the POS system, including correct changes, receipts, and ensuring high-quality guest service. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or by phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, e.g., new title reservations, trade-in, and Pro Rewards programs. Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations for associates and training them on company policies and procedures. Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed; ensure alignment with guest service expectations. Provide recognition and feedback to associates; document performance feedback in the appropriate HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding and training for associates prior to opening or closing shifts; ensure knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethics. Schedule associates to follow guidelines; supervise staffing to maintain high levels of guest service. Approve payroll, manage paid time off, and verify time worked. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in proper working order. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily. Protect assets through inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages at closing as appropriate; communicate concerns to the Store Manager. Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties. Perform inventory counts, stock/restock, and organize products for easy access and presentation. Balance daily cash and reconcile POS totals; complete closeout paperwork and ensure adequate cash on hand. Verify shipments, record discrepancies, and conduct inventories; communicate issues to Store Manager/District Manager. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls promptly; ensure proper labeling and packing lists. Maintain safety awareness; report injuries per guidelines. Maintain organized store records/files and keep manuals up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to sales associates in the Store Manager’s absence. Adhere to GameStop policies and the Associate Handbook codes of conduct. Follow opening and closing procedures. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Clear verbal and written communication skills; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change. Reliable, trustworthy, and able to work alone or in a team; stand and move for extended periods; lift up to 30 lbs.
