Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests promptly; respond to questions/concerns quickly and courteously; assist guests with gaming needs; inform guests of promotions; recommend additional items; apply selling behaviors during every transaction; circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks. Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that drive sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns accurately using the POS system; ensure correct changes, receipts, and high-quality guest service. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop guest benefits (e.g., new title reservations, trade-in, Pro Rewards). Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates in company policies and guidelines. Observe associate performance and provide feedback; address unsatisfactory performance as directed. Provide recognition and feedback to store associates; document feedback in the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding and training for associates prior to opening/closing shifts; knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethics. Schedule store associates in line with guidelines; supervise staffing to maintain top guest service. Approve payroll, manage paid time off, and verify time worked. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, merchandising per guidelines, and ensure fixtures/equipment function properly. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders and ship daily as needed. Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages at closing as appropriate; report concerns to the Store Manager. Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete administrative duties. Assist with inventory counts, stocking, and ensuring products are represented and organized on the sales floor. Balance daily transaction totals; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits per guidelines. Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct inventories and communicate issues to management. Process defectives/recalls promptly and label boxes with packing lists. Maintain safety awareness; report injuries per guidelines. Maintain store records; ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards. Adhere to opening and closing procedures. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred; at least 2 years of retail sales/guest service/management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide genuine, individualized assistance to every guest. Clear verbal and written communication; English proficiency; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; work independently and in a team. Meet performance expectations; maintain attendance, appearance, safety, and respectful workplace standards. Operate POS system; basic math and alphabetizing skills. Complete required paperwork properly; follow written, oral, or diagram instructions. Flexible schedule, including extended hours, nights, weekends, and some holidays (minimum 3 days/week). Work under pressure, be creative, and solve problems; reliable and trustworthy. Ability to stand and move for extended periods; lift up to 30 lbs; basic physical requirements).
