Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns promptly and courteously, assist with video gaming needs, inform guests of promotions, recommend additional items, and circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks. Support the shopping environment, visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns accurately using the POS system; ensure correct changes, provide receipts, and maintain high guest service standards. Handle guest questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop guest benefits (e.g., new title reservations, trade-in program, Pro Rewards). Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates on policies and guidelines. Observe associate performance, provide feedback, address performance concerns, and ensure alignment with guest service expectations. Provide recognition and feedback to associates; document performance feedback in Workday/HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding and training for associates prior to opening/closing shifts; knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethics. Schedule store associates to follow guidelines, maintain staffing for optimal guest service, and supervise as needed in the Store Manager’s absence. Approve payroll, manage paid time off, and verify accurate compensation. Maintain clean, organized store areas; ensure fixtures and equipment are in proper working order. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily. Protect company assets via inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages at closing as needed and report concerns to the Store Manager. Support sales, profitability, and shrink goals; complete required administrative duties. Conduct inventory counts, restock merchandise, and ensure products are represented and organized on the sales floor. Balance daily transactions in the POS system; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits per guidelines. Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct inventories and report issues to management. Process defectives/recalls, stock pulls, and ensure proper labeling and packing lists. Maintain staff and guest safety; report injuries per guidelines. Maintain store records/files; keep manuals up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the Store Manager’s absence. Adhere to GameStop policies and opening/closing procedures. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills; provide genuine, individualized assistance. Clear verbal and written communication; English required; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; work independently and in a team; meet performance expectations. Operate POS system; basic mathematics and alphabetizing skills. Complete required paperwork; follow written, oral, or diagram instructions; execute financial tasks per policy. Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays (minimum 3 days/week). Ability to work alone; stand/move for extended periods; lift up to 30 lbs; engage in physical tasks as needed. Onboarding knowledge of relevant policies and safety practices; military-base store positions may require familiarity with ranks/insignia.
