Overview
Cardiometabolic Account Specialist (CAS) – Boise, ID
is a field-based role responsible for the launch of Ionis’s first wholly owned commercial product within their territory. The CAS will have a deep understanding of the healthcare market and the Familial Chylomicronemia Syndrome (FCS) community, including key customers and accounts treating cardiovascular and lipid-related diseases, and will collaborate with cross-functional partners and external customers to support Ionis goals and patient outcomes. Responsibilities
Understand the objectives and needs of customers to improve patient outcomes by building and leveraging networks within the local healthcare system. Develop and execute business plans to meet customer and Ionis goals; act as a cross-functional teammate and ensure compliance with Ionis Code of Ethics and Business Conduct. Engage customers through education, resources, and programs that support HCPs and patients in the context of FCS. Participate in conferences and scientific meetings to educate HCPs on FCS and related treatment options. Gather market insights, profile accounts, and provide feedback to field leadership and marketing to inform strategy. Identify and document potential HCPs treating FCS to inform commercial planning. Execute brand strategic plans with territory-focused account plans to optimize opportunities and customer satisfaction. Build tactics aligned with brand requirements and the needs of Endocrinologists, Cardiologists, and other FCS-treating sub-specialists. Adapt strategies to meet business goals within the assigned region and develop strategic account plans with field and brand leadership. Participate in training to understand brand messaging, disease state, and customer engagement tactics; certify on applicable policies and ethics. Collaborate with cross-functional teammates to address customer needs while maintaining high standards of patient experience and compliance. Share learnings with national/regional leads and other teams; use available platforms to engage customers through multiple channels, ensuring compliant interactions. Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree 5+ years of pharmaceutical sales experience with relevant competencies Experience in New Product launches and account-based selling HCP and IDN engagement, cross-functional field team coordination Ability to independently manage a sales territory Background in cardiology, endocrinology, or related sub-specialties treating FCS Familiarity with the FCS community and established relationships with key opinion leaders and major accounts Ability to analyze market data and develop territory strategies; track record of navigating complex accounts to align solutions with patient needs Strong clinical knowledge and commitment to patient needs Compensation
