Position Summary
Drives sales in the Vision Center by ensuring effective merchandise presentation, including accurate and competitive pricing, proper signing, and maintaining in-stock inventory levels. Manages budgeting, forecasting sales, and assessing economic trends and community needs. Models, enforces, and provides guidance to Associates on customer service approaches to ensure customer needs and issues are resolved within company standards. Oversees community outreach programs and encourages associates to serve as good community members. Ensures compliance with company and legal policies by analyzing reports, implementing asset protection and safety controls, and overseeing safety and quality assurance reviews. Develops and implements performance improvement plans and directs associates to ensure confidentiality of information and records. Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates through hiring, training, mentoring, and recognition. Ensures the provision of quality eyewear by consulting with customers, selecting products based on their needs, obtaining measurements, verifying prescriptions, maintaining confidentiality, performing minor repairs, and maintaining optical equipment. Upholds the company's open-door policy by engaging with associates, addressing concerns, and reviewing policies. Coordinates and supports activities to meet customer and business needs, building accountability and measuring progress. Fosters a high-performing team environment, embracing diversity and creating a workplace where all associates feel supported and connected. Builds strong relationships, communicates effectively, and motivates others. Acts with integrity by maintaining high standards of ethics and compliance, supporting Walmart's culture, and supporting sustainability and community initiatives. Delivers results by prioritizing customer needs, making data-driven decisions, and encouraging continuous improvement and adaptation to new technologies and processes. Completion of 2+ years of college OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience OR 2 years of general work experience including 1 year optical experience. High school diploma or equivalent. Current eligibility to work as an optician or apprentice optician under applicable state laws. Preferred Qualifications
