Responsibilities

Provide best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; prioritize guests over tasks and demonstrate that commitment by circulating throughout the store. Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Promptly and accurately process guest purchases/return transactions using Point-of-Sale (POS) system; ensure correct changes, bag merchandise, provide receipts, and maintain top-notch guest service. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, e.g., new title reservations program, trade-in program, and Pro Rewards loyalty program. Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates in company policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines. Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed; ensure alignment with guest service expectations. Provide recognition and feedback to associates; input written feedback into the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure associates complete onboarding, job training, and compliance training prior to opening/closing shifts; knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethics. Schedule store associates and supervise staffing to maintain optimal guest service; ensure breaks and meals are accounted for. Approve payroll, enter paid time off, and verify compensation for time worked. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; ensure equipment is in working order. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily. Protect assets through inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages at closing as appropriate; communicate concerns to the Store Manager. Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete administrative duties. Perform inventory counts, restock shelves, and ensure products are represented and organized on the sales floor. Count, balance, and reconcile daily transactions; complete closeout paperwork and manage bank deposits per guidelines. Verify shipments, record discrepancies, conduct inventories, and communicate findings to leadership. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls; label boxes with packing lists. Maintain safety awareness; report injuries per guidelines. Assist in maintaining store records/files and ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to all store policies and procedures and follow opening/closing procedures. Qualifications

Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree with emphasis in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Clear verbal and written communication and listening skills; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in fast-paced environment; work independently and in a team. Meet performance expectations including attendance, appearance, safety, and respectful workplace. Operate POS system; basic math and alphabetizing skills. Complete required paperwork properly; follow written or diagrammed instructions. Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability. Handle pressure, be adaptable, and solve problems creatively. Reliable, trustworthy, and able to exercise good judgment. Able to work alone; stand/move for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs; basic physical requirements. Onboarding may require understanding military ranks/insignia for stores on military bases (where applicable).
