Position Overview Local Sales Manager at
CUMULUS MEDIA | Providence . Demonstrated track record of winning, supporting teams and creating a positive environment. Lead to exceed local sales revenue goals using on‑air, digital and experiential assets. Develop new business, manage local sales talent, and cultivate opportunities both locally and beyond our home markets.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement a strategic sales plan that exceeds market revenue goals, selling integrated solution campaigns (Radio, Audio, Digital, Live Events, Sweet Deals, NTR).
Be a visible and available leader to the team and community.
Identify, recruit, train, coach, manage and develop high‑performance sales talent; build a team that ensures continued top‑line growth.
Maintain an ongoing recruitment effort, keeping a bench of 3+ candidates.
Attend high‑profile account presentations; provide coaching and leadership.
Conduct weekly one‑on‑one meetings to evaluate pending business and update the CRM.
Maximize and monitor the CRM to provide your team a blueprint to succeed.
Lead sales staff meetings and training sessions.
Manage inventory and reporting in Stratus/Wide Orbit.
Administer forecasting revenue, rate, pricing and order approvals.
Participate in business and community associations to develop relationships with local influencers and decision makers.
Develop and build client relationships through quality customer service.
Coordinate orders and promotions with other departments.
Oversee special event sales.
Assist in local and national rate negotiations, sales plans and budgeting.
Create customer‑focused revenue programs and ancillary sales projects.
Manage expenses of the sales organization.
Generate revenue from a personal account list.
Collaborate with all departments.
Qualifications
5+ years of broadcast or digital sales experience, sales management and mentoring with a proven track record of success.
Proficient in radio and digital sales, quantitative/qualitative research, event development and integrated sales expertise.
Familiar with CRM systems, budgeting, sales accountability, recognition programs, inventory management and collections procedures.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications, Marketing or related field preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and social networking platforms.
Highly developed training and coaching skills (organization, delegating, interviewing, motivating).
Demonstrate high energy, achievement‑oriented attitude toward sales, training, education and client relations with excellent negotiation skills.
Excellent presentation skills.
Flexible, creative, digitally savvy; stays ahead of the evolving advertising landscape.
