Candidates for the Chair position should have a proven track record in an academic medical center, including senior roles in clinical service and administration. The ideal candidate will be deeply committed to patient-centered care, fostering community partnerships, and ensuring the highest quality and safety for patients through evidence-based practices. Essential qualifications include an M.D., D.O., or equivalent medical degree, board certification in emergency medicine, and eligibility for medical licensure in New Jersey. The role demands a leader with a collaborative style, extensive experience in complex hospital environments, and a strong ability to manage teams, recruit and develop faculty and staff, and oversee a high-volume clinical service line. The Chair will also be expected to have the leadership experience necessary to engage with multiple stakeholders and partners, and to be eligible for an appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor.
