About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief Medical Officer for its new Oncology Service Line. The successful candidate will be the accountable clinical executive for all oncology services, with a focus on short- and long-term strategic planning, and leading a team of physicians and other providers to ensure the clinical, operational, and financial effectiveness and efficiency of the service line. This role requires a physician leader who is expected to maintain a part-time clinical practice, and who has a collaborative orientation, strong communication skills, and proven leadership abilities. The Chief Medical Officer will also be responsible for system leadership and must be respected by colleagues and regional leadership.
Essential qualifications for the Chief Medical Officer position include an MD, DO, or equivalent degree, completion of an accredited residency program, a cancer-focused subspecialty fellowship, board certification in a cancer-focused subspecialty, and a medical license in the state of practice. Preferred qualifications include additional training in leadership, experience in leading clinicians through change, executive-level communication, an advanced degree in healthcare management, a motivating personality, and excellent planning and organizational skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to manage competing priorities, be technically adept, and have a proven track record of strong relationship management and interpersonal skills.
