Job Purpose and Summary As a Pharmacy Manager, you will lead and develop a pharmacy team that provides exceptional patient care by promoting best practices and leading through change while identifying and addressing performance opportunities. You will support program awareness, onboard newly hired team members, and recognize colleagues for their success. The Pharmacy Manager consistently exhibits best practices when working the bench, including quarterbacking the team, providing patients with meaningful counseling, and abiding by all legal and regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop the pharmacy team to provide exceptional patient care by promoting best practices and leading through change.

Onboard newly hired pharmacy team members and recognize colleagues for their success.

Manage the pharmacy team during bench shifts, coach performance, and follow up with team members.

Ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails at every workstation.

Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and care, and resolve insurance and/or medication issues with the team.

Offer and deliver immunizations and identify opportunities to train Pharmacy Technicians to immunize.

Manage pharmacy inventory with emphasis on protecting cold chain products.

Conduct onboarding for technicians and pharmacists, including training on CVS workflow and ensuring training/licensure is on track.

Ensure operations comply with state Board of Pharmacy regulations; escalate issues as needed.

Partner with Store Manager to maintain a healthy talent pipeline and ensure training for licensure.

Oversee Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists where applicable; deliver performance reviews and close gaps as needed.

Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic; manage the pharmacy schedule.

Review business reporting and develop action plans to improve workflow, service, patient care, and compliance.

Establish a culture of safety, empowerment, and inclusion; encourage feedback and take action as appropriate.

Maintain clinical and technical skills; pursue opportunities to expand knowledge to support patients.

Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through pharmacist-delivered clinical care (e.g., testing and prescribing services where permissible).

Comply with all federal and state laws, regulations, and CVS Health policies; ensure privacy and a safe workplace.

Required Qualifications

Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located

Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)

Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list

1-2 years of experience as a Pharmacist

Essential Functions

Team Management and Leadership: lead by example, delegate tasks, coach, and motivate

Other duties as directed by supervisor or manager

Preferred Qualifications

Completion of the CVS Pharmacy Manager Emerging Leader (PM-EL) program

3-5 years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service

Ability to work in the home store and across the market to meet business needs

Anticipated Weekly Hours 32

Pay Range The Typical Pay Range For This Role Is $65.00 - $82.00

This range represents base hourly rate or base annual salary. Actual offer depends on factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position may be eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or other incentive programs.
