Our Pharmacy Managers lead local pharmacy teams, model a culture of excellence, and set the standard for patient care within our stores. As a Pharmacy Manager, you will lead and develop a pharmacy team to provide exceptional patient care, promote best practices, and guide the team through change. You will onboard new hires, recognize colleagues for success, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory guidelines while delivering meaningful patient counseling and pharmacy services. Responsibilities
Live our purpose by improving patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices. Oversee the pharmacy team during bench shifts, coach performance, and follow up with team members to improve outcomes. Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by adhering to pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails at every workstation. Deliver compassionate patient experiences, collaborate with the patient’s healthcare team, and help resolve insurance or medication issues. Offer and deliver immunizations and mentor Pharmacy Technicians to learn immunization capabilities where permitted. Manage pharmacy inventory with a focus on protecting cold chain products and following inventory best practices. Conduct onboarding for Technicians and Pharmacists, including training on CVS workflow and ensuring timely completion of required training and licensure. Ensure operations comply with state Board of Pharmacy regulations; escalate issues as needed. Partner with the Store Manager to maintain a healthy talent pipeline and ensure training for licensure is on track. Oversee Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists (where applicable) and conduct performance evaluations. Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic; manage pharmacy scheduling and staffing as needed. Review business reporting to identify opportunities for improvement in workflow, service, patient care, and compliance. Establish a culture of safety, empowerment, and inclusion, encouraging feedback and action as needed. Maintain clinical and technical skills and pursue opportunities to expand knowledge to support patients. Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through pharmacist-delivered clinical care (e.g., testing and prescribing services where permissible). Understand and comply with all applicable laws, regulations, standards, and CVS Health policies; protect patient privacy and ensure a safe, inclusive workplace. Required Qualifications
Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located Active National Provider Identifier (NPI) Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list 1-2 years of experience as a Pharmacist Essential Functions
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe Attention and Focus: concentrate on tasks and switch between tasks to meet patient and business needs; ensure prescription information and labeling accuracy Customer Service and Team Orientation: proactively help people and respond to patients’ reactions appropriately Communication Skills: effective verbal and written communication; active listening Mathematical Reasoning: compute quantities for prescriptions, days supply, and bottle counts Problem Resolution: address challenging interactions and select appropriate actions Physical Demands: be mobile, lift, reach, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity; occasional lifting up to 20 lbs Fine motor control and vision required for transcription, computer work, and inspection of small parts Team Management and Leadership: lead by example, delegate, coach, and drive performance; adapt to changing circumstances Any additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager Preferred Qualifications
Completion of the CVS Pharmacy Manager Emerging Leader (PM-EL) program 3-5 years of related experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting Ability to work in the home store and across the market as needed Additional Details
