Our Pharmacy Managers play a critical role in cultivating a culture of excellence in their respective pharmacy by acting as a role model for all, demonstrating genuine care, and setting the bar for their pharmacy team.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop a pharmacy team that provides exceptional patient care by promoting best practices and leading through change while identifying and addressing performance opportunities.

Support novel program awareness, onboard newly hired pharmacy team members, and recognize colleagues for their success.

Demonstrate best practices when working the bench, including quarterbacking the team, providing patients with meaningful counseling, and abiding by all legal and regulatory guidelines.

Live our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.

Oversee the pharmacy team during bench shifts with coaching and follow-up to improve performance; ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following workflow procedures and safety guardrails.

Foster positive patient experiences by showing empathy and care, collaborating with the patient’s total healthcare team, and resolving insurance and/or medication issues.

Offer and deliver immunizations, identify and support Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize.

Manage pharmacy inventory with emphasis on protecting cold chain products; follow inventory best practices.

Conduct onboarding for new Technicians and Pharmacists, including training on CVS workflow and ensuring timely completion of required training and licensure.

Ensure operations are compliant with state Board of Pharmacy regulations; escalate issues to appropriate leadership when needed.

Partner with the Store Manager to maintain a healthy talent pipeline and ensure cross-trained colleagues are on-track for licensure.

Manage Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists, deliver performance reviews, and close gaps as needed.

Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic; write or delegate the pharmacy schedule and monitor business reporting to drive action plans for improvements.

Establish a culture of safety, empowerment, and inclusion; solicit feedback and take action as appropriate.

Maintain clinical and technical skills to support patients and adhere to required trainings and CMEs.

Support access to care and patient outcomes through pharmacist-delivered clinical care (e.g., testing and prescribing where permissible); empower the team to provide holistic care at every step in the patient care journey.

Understand and comply with all relevant federal and state laws, regulations, and CVS Health policies; ensure privacy and security in dispensing and records.

Qualifications

Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located

Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)

Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list

1-2 years of experience as a Pharmacist

Essential Functions

Other tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager

Preferred Qualifications

Completion of the CVS Pharmacy Manager Emerging Leader (PM-EL) program

3-5 years of related experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting

Ability to work in the home store and across the market as needed

Anticipated Weekly Hours 40

Time Type Full time

Pay Range The Typical Pay Range For This Role Is $65.00 - $82.00

This pay range represents base pay for positions in the job grade. Final offer depends on experience, education, geography and other factors. This position is eligible for CVS Health bonus or incentive programs.
