Company: Siemens Industry, Inc. Location: 7000 Siemens Drive, Wendell, North Carolina 27591 Position Title: Field Service Engineer Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 40 Hours/Week
Summary of Duties
Perform installation, testing, commissioning, and start-up of low voltage (LV) and medium voltage (MV) equipment.
Provide support, troubleshooting, maintenance, training, and consulting.
Perform commissioning testing of GM-SG, SDV, and SIEBREAK on MV side and WL on LV side.
Provide technical assistance during installation and troubleshooting for operational or testing issues.
Perform FATs (factory acceptance testing), including visual inspection, nameplate inspection, and mechanical and electrical interlocking.
Work with Siemens MCC family, such as SIMOVAC and TIASTAR, including the option with soft starters.
Install and integrate new breakers in old cubicles and perform mechanical and electrical modifications in existing MV and LV switchgear.
Comply with OSHA standards in all duties.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
3 years of experience as a Field Service Engineer, Field Test Engineer, Electrical Technician, or related role.
Deep knowledge of power transmission and distribution systems.
Experience with metal-clad switchgear, MV and LV circuit breakers, vacuum switchgear.
Experience with breaker or LV equipment testing, including analyzing test results and managing test equipment (Hi Pot, Megger, Dilo).
Knowledge of equipment condition assessments on MV and LV units.
Strong interpretation of schematics, control troubleshooting, and mechanical assemblies.
Mechanical knowledge, control wiring, and understanding of operational and product functions.
Experience working on electrical substations and performing maintenance and outages for large customers.
Ability to work with ANSI and IEC standards.
