Healthcare Program Administrator Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for a Healthcare Program Administrator who develops, plans, coordinates, and maintains hospital-wide risk management and patient safety initiatives to support quality care, regulatory compliance, and organizational integrity at ARMC, an acute care teaching hospital. This position plays a critical role in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating risks to patients, visitors, staff, and the organization. The incumbent works collaboratively with leadership, medical staff, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with laws, accreditation standards, and best practices in healthcare risk management.

The Risk Management Healthcare Program Administrator functions with a high degree of independence, overseeing confidential and complex programs designed to minimize liability, improve patient safety outcomes, and ensure compliance with state, federal, and accreditation requirements. The position may supervise a small support team and reports directly to a department manager or administrator. This recruitment will be used to fill vacancies within ARMC’s Risk Management Department.

Duties

Plan, implement, and oversee ARMC’s risk management programs, including incident reporting, event investigations, claims management, and compliance initiatives.

Collect, analyze, and trend incident and claims data; prepare reports and develop key performance indicators to reduce risk exposure.

Monitor healthcare regulations and accreditation standards; develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance.

Conduct investigations of adverse events, near misses, and complaints; identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.

Coordinate with legal counsel, insurance carriers, and internal departments on liability claims and potential litigation.

Develop and deliver risk management and patient safety education programs for staff and medical personnel.

Serve as a member or chair of hospital committees such as Risk Management, Patient Safety and Quality, or Regulatory Readiness.

Review, draft, and update hospital policies to align with current regulations and best practices.

Act as a liaison and resource to departments, administrators, and medical staff on risk management issues.

Coordinate and participate in accreditation surveys to ensure compliance with applicable standards.

Identify opportunities for process improvement and collaborate with teams to enhance safety and reduce liability.

Supervise and evaluate support staff as assigned, providing training and professional development.

Stay current with healthcare risk management trends and regulatory updates through conferences, seminars, and professional development.

Experience:

Three (3) years of professional experience in risk management, patient safety, quality improvement, regulatory accreditation and/or compliance in a healthcare or related setting.

Education:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare or Business Administration, risk management, Nursing, or a closely related field. The ideal candidate will possess five (5) years of professional experience in healthcare risk management and demonstrate strong knowledge of healthcare laws, regulations, and accreditation standards, including those established by The Joint Commission, CMS, and CDPH. They should have proven experience conducting risk assessments, investigations, and root cause analyses in an acute care hospital setting. The candidate must exhibit excellent communication, analytical, and collaborative skills to effectively promote patient safety and ensure organizational compliance.

Certification (Preferred):

Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) and/or Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS).
