NC Department of Adult Correction is a large state agency responsible for the care, custody, and supervision of adults sentenced after conviction for violating North Carolina laws. The department includes state prisons, healthcare, facility operations, and various divisions and programs aimed at public safety and rehabilitation. Description of Work

We recruit for Correctional Officer I, II, and III levels statewide within our agency. The position involves supervising offenders with appropriate oversight and safety measures, performing general security duties, and ensuring care, custody, and control of offenders. Responsibilities

Ensure the care, custody, and control of offenders. Tour assigned areas, observe offender activity in person and on monitors, and identify safety or security concerns. Perform security duties to prevent escape, disorder, rule infractions, and harm to offenders, visitors, and staff. Search offenders, visitors, cells, and other areas for weapons and contraband. Monitor and regulate offender and staff movement. Maintain and record offender counts, cell assignments, and other pertinent information. Escort offenders within and outside the institution and supervise offender work details. Use and maintain keys and other equipment; handle post-specific duties as assigned. Qualifications and requirements

Active Driver's License required. Minimum Education and Experience requirements vary by Officer level (I, II, III) with GED or high school diploma; specific experience requirements apply for higher levels. This is a full-time position. Shifts may include rotating, fixed, or split shifts, with days, nights, weekends, holidays, and mandatory overtime as required. Additional information
