Responsibilities
Actively participate in the bank's sales and business development program to develop new mortgage business, including engaging in sales activities away from the bank’s offices; report pertinent information to the immediate supervisor and provide required information on sales and service activities; maintain current knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
Essential Duties
Actively participate in the bank's sales and business development program, including establishing quantitative sales objectives with the assigned supervisor and working with the Mortgage Division's annual marketing/sales plan.
Solicit new business from present and prospective customers through in-person, off-site contact; maintain ongoing contacts to enhance cross-selling; keep detailed records of meetings.
Serve as a member of the bank’s sales team and collaborate with other team members to increase sales opportunities.
Develop relationships with customers, realtors, and community organizations to generate new business; locate and contact prospective customers; present bank financial services and assess banking needs.
Develop financial plans based on customer loan service requirements; spend time in sales activities away from the Bank’s offices.
Report information to the immediate supervisor on a schedule; maintain knowledge of laws and regulations affecting mortgage banking services.
Coordinate departmental tasks to ensure efficient processes and proper segregation of duties; respond to inquiries within policy timeframes.
Adhere to laws and policies promoting a workplace free of sexual harassment and discrimination; support risk management, safety, and regulatory compliance (e.g., CRA, BSA, Equal Credit Opportunity Act).
Ancillary Duties
Attend sales and trade meetings as the bank's representative to gain information and leads on prospective accounts.
Perform supportive tasks that may be altered depending on circumstances.
Physical Requirements
Occasionally ascend/descend stairs and move about the office to accomplish tasks.
Frequently communicate with others and continually use wrists/hands/fingers.
Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and assess the accuracy and thoroughness of work.
No adverse environmental conditions expected; primarily sedentary work.
Qualifications
A B.S. or B.A. degree in a business-related field or equivalent knowledge.
A minimum of two (2) years of experience in related positions normally required.
Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills.
Thorough knowledge of current mortgage lending regulations (e.g., Reg. B, RESPA, HMDA, Reg. Z).
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and sales skills.
Proficient PC skills.
Working knowledge of bank operating policies and procedures affecting mortgage loan services.
Thorough knowledge of mortgage loan products and services and mortgage lending documents.
Knowledge of real estate law and credit underwriting guidelines.
Visual and auditory skills; valid driver’s license; ability to work a flexible schedule.
