Responsibilities
Serve as the working lead‑person for the parts department, overseeing staff engaged in Equipment Materiel Operations.
Manage purchasing, inventory, disbursement, shipping and receiving of equipment parts and related supplies for fabrication, maintenance, repair and disposal of mobile equipment.
Use Windows‑based computer for data input and retrieval.
Maintain equipment records and coordinate with other departments.
Ensure compliance with procurement policies and safety protocols.
Report to the Equipment Materiel Manager.
Possess a Class C driver’s license.
Working Conditions
Primarily based in the shop parts department; may work in outside storage areas, warehouse, field mechanic locations or highway maintenance warehouses.
Must work in inclement weather, including severe cold or heat.
Assist in daily operations of the parts department and may travel to field locations.
Minimum Requirements
Valid California Class C driver’s license.
Completion of drug screening prior to hire.
Strong organizational and computer skills.
Experience in equipment parts management preferred.
Eligibility for the Senior Equipment Materiel Specialist exam or be on the state examination list.
Special Requirements
Valid California Drivers License (CDL) – provide number, class, expiration date and endorsements.
Drug screening required.
Valid, unrestricted Class C driver’s license.
