Serves as an Electrical Engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York Construction Division, New York District. Responsibilities
Provides electrical engineering advice on complex electrical engineering construction matters. Interprets and operates within current and newly revised electrical code, standards, engineering regulations, electrical unified facilities codes, energy requirements and capabilities for building commissioning. Reviews and makes recommendations on unique problems with high visibility projects. Provides comments and revisions to proposed policies and guidance. Recommends changes to codes or manufacturers specifications, equipment and systems. Coordinates electrical engineering design closely between construction and engineering divisions. Requirements
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver\'s License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles. This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties. Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 30% of the time. This position requires a financial disclosure upon entry and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R. This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Professional Engineering license within 24 months of entrance on duty. This position requires the incumbent to pass a Hazardous Toxic and Radiological Waste physical examination, if required. This position may require day trips to local offices.
