Summary The Strategic Account Executive, Commercial Lines leads the overall service, recommendations, and implementation of a book of insurance business. The role requires a high degree of independent discretion and decision‑making based on industry knowledge and experience, providing professional guidance to clients and collaborating with carrier representatives, underwriters, business partners, and HUB colleagues. Responsibilities include business development and sales with new and existing clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Manage a book of high‑revenue accounts with significant impact on client operations and HUB.

Lead and develop a team of Account Managers and Associates; identify skill gaps and collaborate with leadership for training.

Apply independent judgment on coverage issues, claims, renewal strategies, and policy interpretation for assigned accounts.

Understand client business and insurance objectives; analyze and compare plans for suitability.

Assess risks and recommend appropriate coverage to mitigate client risks.

Build strong relationships with internal customers and external trading partners.

Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing directly with carriers alongside the Marketing Team.

Advise on special carrier programs and quote coverage through appropriate programs.

Resolve escalated complex service issues between clients and carriers requiring policy interpretation.

Lead client meetings, including renewals, independently of producers or managers.

Mentor and train Account Managers and Representatives as needed.

Oversee functions performed by staff, including renewal strategies and client/cARRIER issue resolution.

Stay abreast of industry changes and recommend independent solutions to clients.

Lead all aspects of client service, marketing, and renewal of the book.

Maintain overall retention of accounts in the assigned book.

Develop new business from existing accounts and leads; meet departmental production goals.

Document conversations and update HUB computer systems and automated agency management systems.

Utilize HUB and industry resources and tools effectively.

Travel for company business as required.

Prepare reports for management as needed.

Attend industry‑related continuing education and courses.

Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

7+ years of experience in an insurance Account Management role, preferably brokerage; proficiency in required lines.

Excellent customer service, analytical, problem‑solving, and conflict resolution skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and automated agency management systems.

Leadership experience and independent responsibility for client retention.

Ability to lead and influence in a team environment.

Regular full‑time work schedule at HUB facilities; willingness to travel when required.

Education, Licensing or Certification Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required; College Degree preferred.

Currently licensed in good standing in required lines and states with all necessary CE credits.

Advanced professional designation highly desirable (e.g., AAI, ARM, CIC).

Physical Demands The job requires sitting, using hands for tasks, occasional lifting up to 10 pounds, and vision ability for close focus and focus adjustment.
