ChristianaCare Family Medicine Center at Wilmington is looking for a
Medical Assistant II .
Family Medicine Center at Wilmington is located at 501 W. 14th Street in Wilmington, Delaware. The ChristianaCare Family Medicine Center at Wilmington Health Center is one of two locations for an academic family medicine practice in Wilmington, alongside the Foulk Road center. Both centers feature physicians who serve as educators and faculty, allowing resident doctors to participate in patient care. Faculty members actively engage in research and mentorship to promote advanced, compassionate healthcare.
The center offers a variety of primary care services enhanced by an on-site pharmacy, diagnostic testing, social services, and wellness and educational programs. Services include primary care for all age groups, pediatric and teen visits, women's health services, sexually transmitted infection counseling and testing, sports medicine, osteopathic manipulative medicine, behavioral health, joint injections, skin biopsy, minor wound care, LGBTQ comprehensive care, and treatment for substance and alcohol use disorders.

As the
Medical Assistant II,
will focus on ensuring high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include assisting healthcare providers during examinations and treatments for both virtual and on-site appointments. The
Medical Assistant II
entails taking on a leadership role, mentoring office staff, and facilitating various operational functions and duties within the practice. Family Medicine at Wilmington Primary Care | ChristianaCare
Work Schedule: Monday through Thursday from 7:30am to 4pm Friday from 9am to 5pm Duties & Responsibilities: The
Medical Assistant II
is responsible for a variety of tasks both for virtual and on-site patient care. This includes rooming patients, recording vital signs, performing point of care testing, injections, medication administration, and EKGs according to practice needs. The
Medical Assistant II
assists clinicians during examinations and procedures, prepare treatment rooms with necessary supplies, and complete patient-specific paperwork. Staying compliant with EMR standards, the
Medical Assistant II
ensures that all pertinent test results are up to date for upcoming patient visits and provides adequate coverage amid staff shortages. The
Medical Assistant II
participates in new hire orientations and educational initiatives as directed, handles patient callbacks as instructed by providers, and adheres to state guidelines for sterilization of medical equipment. Responsibilities also encompass managing prior authorizations, referrals, medical refills, and scheduling tests, procedures, and surgeries. Quality control of all POCT equipment is conducted, and they assist providers with documentation during examinations. The
Medical Assistant II
further includes clerical duties as assigned, ordering and maintaining clinical supplies, and ensuring safe work practices.

High School Graduate or GED required. Two years' experience as a Medical Assistant, is required, three years' is preferred. Strengths and Qualities:

Hourly Pay Range: $19.84 - $29.76
This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
