Job Summary The Sr. Director of Analytics and Engineering exhibits project, client and unit-specific leadership to Analytics and Engineering management and analysts by designing, directing, and executing key Conifer Analytics projects. This includes projects such as pre-integration client reporting, emerging client integration reporting, large revenue cycle operations initiative reporting, regulatory reporting, process engineering projects and projects requiring expertise across multiple business reporting areas. The Sr. Director provides clarity for short/long term objectives, project prioritization, and feedback to Directors for individual and professional development of leveraged Analytics, Engineering and Statistics resources. The Sr. Director leverages project management skills, analytical skills and time management skills to ensure that all requirements are accomplished within established timeframes.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Lead or oversee special project reporting for various business units and pre-integration client reporting for new emerging clients. Maintain up-to-date expertise on reporting requirements related to all Conifer revenue cycle business units under his/her direction.

Coordinate Analytics team analysts on projects by providing guidance and direction for reporting projects, while taking on more complex tasks as the lead for those projects. Ensure timely delivery of needed reporting to clients and various business unit stakeholders.

Maintain a high-level understanding of Accounting practices/General Ledger practices as it relates to Hospital Revenue Cycle metrics.

Collaborate with senior Conifer Executives and operations leaders to ensure client needs are met in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.

Oversight of Engineering team members, ensuring projects are in line with corporate strategies.

Creates Analytics/Engineering team’s strategies, monitors progress, aligns staff and establishes budgets.

Financial Responsibility N/A, aside from budget adherence and accountability on projects led by Director of Strategic Initiatives.

Supervisory Responsibilities If direct report positions are listed below, the following responsibilities will be performed in accordance with guidelines, policies and procedures and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Ability to set direction for large analyst team that is consistent with Conifer senior leadership vision and approach for executing strategic projects.

Independent, logical thinker with proven ability to perform detailed data analysis and make sound decisions.

Advanced troubleshooting abilities, with ability to problem solve complex technical issues independently within a timely fashion.

Advanced ability to gather and analyze complex data, utilizing deductive reasoning.

Must demonstrate excellent professional communication skills through clearly written, concise and comprehensive documentation.

Experienced and comfortable making presentations to Executive Leadership and Directors.

Advanced ability to work well with team members and Conifer leadership, respectful of all positions at all levels, as well as complete tasks independently and professionally.

Ability to effectively and professionally motivate team members and peers to meet goals.

Advanced organizational, customer service, interpersonal, and time-management skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including resourcing.

Advanced knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle.

Advanced knowledge/experience with reporting systems.

Intermediate knowledge of project management methodologies.

Intermediate level skills in applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Visio.

Education & Experience

4 year college degree in Business, Accounting, IS or 10 or more years of related experience.

5-7 years of Healthcare revenue cycle experience.

Extensive experience with Revenue Cycle Engineering or Analytics at a Director level.

Physical Demands

Must be able to work in sitting position, use computer and answer telephone.

Other

Approximately 5-10% travel may be required.

Selected candidate will be required to pass a Motor Vehicle Records check.
