The Controller is to oversee financial management, reporting, and strategic decision-making of the North American business unit of Norres Baggerman Group. This role will ensure accurate financial record-keeping, drive financial planning and analysis, and support organizational growth objectives. The Controller will work closely with executive leadership, providing insights to inform business strategy and overseeing compliance with accounting regulations and company policies.
Responsibilities
Responsible to complete all accounting and controlling functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
Lead month‑end and year‑end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements in compliance with GAAP, HGB, and IFRS.
Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and budgets; analyze variances and provide insights to executive leadership.
Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial risk; implement strategies to optimize company liquidity and profitability.
Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
Drive improvements in accounting and reporting processes for enhanced efficiency and accuracy.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, especially Sales, Operations, and Production, to support financial planning and resource allocation.
Liaise with external auditors and manage the audit process, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Support company leadership in strategic financial planning, including M&A activities, investment analysis, and other growth initiatives.
Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of industry regulations, emerging trends, and best practices in accounting and finance.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience with progressive leadership experience.
Strong understanding of GAAP, HGB and IFRS, preferred.
Proven experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
Exposure in a multinational firm and working within a multicurrency environment (USD$, CAD$, Euro).
Audit management experience required, experience with 3rd party tax, audit, and accounting firms.
Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel).
Familiarity with manufacturing or industrial products industry preferred.
Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non‑financial stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and develop a team in a fast‑paced environment.
