Job Description The University of Missouri Department of Athletics is seeking a Director of Landscape, Turf, and Grounds. Reporting to the Executive Associate Athletics Director – Chief Infrastructure Officer, this individual will be responsible for coordinating day‑to‑day maintenance and preparation for all Mizzou Athletics sports fields, grounds, and landscaping within the Mizzou Sports Park.
Duties
Taking a proactive approach to all aspects of turf and grounds maintenance
Developing and implementing plans for the successful maintenance of all athletics grounds and fields, including all competition fields
Maintaining and improving all landscaping, turf (both real and artificial), and associated flora and fauna to create safe, effective and aesthetically pleasing venues
Preparing facilities in accordance with all NCAA and SEC conference rules and regulations, establishing environmentally sound cultural practices that promote safe playing conditions
Managing budgets related to athletics fields and grounds
Overseeing large‑scale facilities projects such as the replacement of competition turf fields
Purchasing, maintaining, and managing inventory of athletics field maintenance equipment and supplies
Maintaining relationships with coaching staffs and university officials regarding practice/game schedules, camp dates, inclement weather situations and providing guidance to those individuals
Managing and coordinating a team of full and part‑time employees
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
At least 5 years of experience providing comparable knowledge and skills
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in Grounds & Turf Management
Shift Monday‑Friday 8:00am‑5:00pm; Nights, Weekends, and Travel as required.
Salary Range $69,100 - $73,000 (Grade: GGS 12).
