Overview: The East Side Union High School District is seeking a Varsity Track Coach to lead the girls varsity program at James Lick High School. The position involves coaching responsibilities, program management, and adherence to CIF/CCS and district codes of conduct.
Responsibilities
Demonstrates knowledge of the rules, fundamental skills, and advanced techniques for track and field.
Instills commitment, discipline, and teamwork; follows CIF/CCS Coaches Code of Conduct and the BVAL Coaches Code of Conduct.
Communicates with parents, students, staff, and the community; oversees all levels within the program as Head Varsity Coach.
Organizes practices and designs conditioning programs for the sport.
Manages and organizes according to district guidelines and policies; maintains positive communication with the community.
Mentors students to balance academics and athletic commitments; supervises equipment and uniforms; maintains safety and inventory.
Follows district fiscal procedures for fundraising, purchasing, and tournament payments.
Qualifications
Playing experience in track and field at high school, college, amateur, or professional levels.
Coaching experience at the Junior Varsity level or in youth/middle school programs in the same sport, or equivalent.
Current State of California coaching certifications.
District-required certification including annual mandated reporter training; fingerprint clearance.
