Purpose of the Position
This position will be primarily in charge of reviewing and processing all new student worker and adjunct hiring packages for accuracy and completeness and establishing and maintaining new positions for these employee populations in Cardinal. This includes training new part-time employees on the Cardinal timesheet system, ensuring all supervisors have appropriate Cardinal roles and providing training and support to our Student Worker Hiring Managers throughout the Campus. This position will also provide backup for the Payroll Accountants for the full-time and part-time payrolls, as well as, all payroll processing activities as necessary to support the Payroll Department.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Related to Position
Knowledge of relationships and interactions of payroll/benefits compensation practices. Knowledge of federal and state payroll policies, procedures, laws and regulations. Considerable knowledge in the development, operation, maintenance and integration of complex spreadsheets and databases. Proficient in use of office equipment. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong organization skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities concurrently.
Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required
Education : High school graduate or equivalent education/experience that equates to a high school diploma.
Experience processing financial data in a business setting. Customer service experience. Data entry experience. Experience with word processing and spreadsheet software. Payroll experience.
Additional Consideration(s)
Education : College coursework or certificate in business or related field Experience working in a college or university. Experience using the Commonwealth’s Cardinal HCM and Payroll software. Microsoft Word and Excel experience.
Salary Information
Starting at $43,417 Commensurate with Education and Experience
