The Civil Space Project Management Excellence Lead plays a critical role in navigating complex matrix programs, aligning stakeholders, and driving measurable outcomes across multiple dimensions. As a strategic partner, the Project Management Excellence Lead ensures that tactical initiatives contribute to meaningful business impact, leveraging agile methodologies, remote work dynamics, and cross‑functional collaboration.
What You Will Do
Develop and implement comprehensive project strategies specifically tailored to the objectives and mission of the Civil Space Organization, ensuring alignment with broader business goals
Oversee program budgets ranging from $1M to $10M and maintain accountability for high‑visibility projects within the civil space portfolio
Lead cross‑functional teams of 15‑30+ professionals, coordinating efforts across multiple complex projects focused on advancing civil space initiatives
Establish and maintain project governance structures, processes, and success metrics to ensure effective oversight and delivery of Civil Space Organization projects
Drive strategic alignment by bridging the gap between executive leadership’s vision and the tactical execution of civil space programs
Proactively identify and mitigate project‑level risks while managing interdependencies across different projects within the civil space domain
Facilitate clear and consistent communication with stakeholders, including executive leadership, through detailed reporting on program progress, challenges, and milestones
Lead organizational change management efforts to ensure smooth adoption of new processes, technologies, and strategies across Civil Space Organization business units
Optimize resource allocation and capacity planning to effectively manage project portfolios and meet the evolving demands of the civil space program
Ensure all projects comply with quality assurance gates to maintain the highest levels of operational and delivery excellence
Travel approximately 10%
Qualifications You Must Have
University Degree and minimum 12 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree and minimum 10 years of experience
Proven experience leading cross‑functional teams to achieve organizational goals
Strong background in project management, including planning, execution, and task coordination

Salary Range:
$147,000 USD - $295,000 USD
