Our Wine Education team is growing and we’re seeking a dynamic leader who is passionate about wine education and training. As the

Wine Education Manager (Northern CA) , you will support the Director of Wine Education in executing world-class trade and internal education initiatives that will elevate brand storytelling, deepen trade engagement, and build consistent wine knowledge across the organization. This role oversees the logistics, implementation, and evaluation of key initiatives, ensuring seamless execution and continuous improvement across markets and teams.

This position will be based in Napa, CA, and requires frequent travel for on-site winery and market presence.

Job Description Trade Engagement (70%)

Manage event execution and logistics for trade programs including in-market wine dinners, staff trainings, trade association activations, etc.

Support coordination and execution of VIP wholesaler and customer immersions on winery properties, ensuring a seamless guest experience from planning through recap

Track activation logging, participation, engagement, and post-event results in CRM; provide timely follow-up (within 72 hours) and monthly/quarterly reporting

Partner with the Director to deliver the national education and trade engagement strategy across all key markets

Maintain and update education toolkits and materials: brand story decks, tasting frameworks, tasting notes, food pairings, event templates, SOPs, and compliance checklists

Drive sales growth by creating, refining and protecting brand storytelling, in collaboration with Brand Marketing for all of our wine brands with an emphasis on JUSTIN

Coordinate with Sales, Brand Marketing, and Community Relations to align education activations with commercial objectives and joint business plans

Build and maintain relationships with key accounts; align programming and business plans

Train and certify Merchandisers and Sales Team to deliver in-store tastings within SOP

Manage and report on personal budget (T&E, wine, etc.) with focus on RO

Employee Engagement (30%)

Support the Director in planning and facilitating internal education programs that inspire employee engagement and brand advocacy

Manage logistics and collateral for internal activations such as Wonderful Wine Downs, onboarding sessions, and role-based learning paths

Ensure learning content within the LMS is current, accurate, and aligned with brand messaging and product updates

Collect feedback and participation metrics from internal education initiatives to identify opportunities for improvement

Partner with cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Hospitality) to deliver consistent, brand-aligned messaging in all internal trainings

Develop and lead on-going internal educational series (general wine education, new release tastings, quarterly food & wine pairing collaboration between winemaking/hospitality/culinary teams, harvest immersions, etc.)

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in wine education, trade marketing, wine sales, or hospitality operations with a focus on training

CMS Level 1 or WSET Level 2 (minimum) required; CMS Level 2 or WSET 3, CWE, or equivalent preferred

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (preferably with an educational focus in Hospitality, Sales, Business management or a similar field)

Working knowledge of CRM and LMS platforms; proficiency in Microsoft Office

Ability to travel up to 50%; based in Napa, CA, with winery and market presence

Strong organizational and project management skills with proven ability to manage multiple priorities and markets

Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills

Pay Range: $95,000 - $110,000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
