Overview

Child Care Center Unit Supervisor - State Program Administrator Director. Location: St. Paul. Telework eligible: Yes. Full-Time, unlimited status. Department: Department of Children, Youth, & Families (DCYF). Responsibilities

Interpret state laws and rules for licensed programs to assure that inspections and investigations are conducted as required, licensing actions are completed in accordance with regulations, licensing sanctions are issued as required, and variances granted based on identified standards. Manage the workflow and output of the unit, including overseeing operations and participating in internal and external meetings, task forces, and workgroups. Manage staff, including hiring, supervising, evaluating, and, if needed, taking disciplinary action. Execute responsibilities of the Commissioner of DCYF pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Chapters 142B and 142C within the Office of Inspector General (OIG), Licensing Division, Child Care Center Licensing and Certification Unit, to oversee statewide licensure/certification of childcare centers. Minimum Qualifications

Four (4) years of experience with licensed or certified childcare centers, including monitoring/ensuring compliance with applicable state laws and rules. Knowledge of state and federal rules, regulations, and laws applicable to DCYF-licensed or certified childcare centers. Experience collecting/analyzing information or data; overseeing projects and/or the work of others; identifying and resolving problems, complex cases, or licensing issues. Demonstrated leadership experience (e.g., supervisor, lead worker, team lead, project lead, or completion of a state leadership program) and evidence of commitment to leadership responsibilities. Preferred Qualifications

Contemporary methods in providing services to children in licensed or certified childcare centers. Experience investigating issues and monitoring compliance with regulatory requirements. Knowledge of administrative, civil, and criminal law affecting licensing functions. Experience working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Additional Requirements
