This position is responsible for mammography exams, interventional procedures, and provides data input into the Mammography Data Base (MQSA). Work routines are guided by established procedures and protocols; the quality of work performed is approved or reviewed by the Lead mammography technologist, quality control technologist, supervisor, or an appropriate radiologist.
The incumbent operates various types of mammography equipment to provide diagnostic images for interpretation by a radiologist. The technologist maintains and operates equipment according to manufacturers' operation manual.
All duties and responsibilities are performed calmly in stressful situations and in cooperation with radiologists, clinicians, and peers to maximize effectiveness. The technologist must adhere to department protocols, UCDH policies and procedures, and all applicable work rules and regulations.
Incumbent may perform duties at the Main Hospital, Ambulatory Care Center, and satellite facilities throughout UC Davis’ Primary Clinic Network as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications
ARRT Mammography Certificate
Valid CRT (M) CA Mammography State Certificate
Up‑to‑date on state requirements for mammography performance
Digital 8‑hour 2D and 3D certificate
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) or UC Davis Health CPR
Knowledge of basic mammography imaging and radiology equipment, supplies, and drugs
Ability to operate radiographic equipment to produce high‑quality images and adapt to new programs and equipment upgrades
Physical ability to perform all functions of a mammography technologist
Skill to organize workload by priority and produce a sufficient volume of work in a timely manner
Demonstrates responsibility and dependability, including attendance, punctuality, positive attitude, and care of equipment and supplies
Knowledge of proper body mechanics when lifting, transporting patients, and moving radiology equipment
Ability to assist patients with limited mobility or special needs
Flexibility to provide mammography services at various locations as needed, maneuvering portable equipment in tight spaces
Knowledge of health system policies and procedures to effectively perform job functions
Effective communication skills, both written and oral, for clear instruction and information exchange
Interpersonal skills to maintain a friendly, supportive environment for patients and colleagues
Customer‑service orientation and ability to remain calm during peak workload and challenging situations
Problem‑solving skills for independent identification and resolution of issues
Decision‑making skills with discretion and when to seek assistance

No eating in work area; clean and debris‑free environment
Annual TB test and CPR per Joint Commission regulations
Ability to perform CPR when needed
Excellent attendance and punctuality required
