The Director, under the supervision of the Senior Access Officer, oversees the development, coordination, and execution of a comprehensive strategy for programs, events, and student engagement within the Leadership Institute.

Duties and Responsibilities

Oversight of unit operations, budget, personnel, and related administrative functions.

Create and maintain working relationships with campus entities.

Provide direction and leadership through the collaborative development of leadership programming at Montana State University.

Prepare students and staff to be innovative leaders in a diverse global society.

Work directly with the Associated Students of Montana State University to support their training, development, and leadership initiatives.

Serve on the advisor team for the Associated Students of Montana State University.

Design and supervise leadership experiences for students affiliated with the Leadership Institute in partnership with university and community partners.

Required Qualifications

Master’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Demonstrated success in supervising staff and students with strong leadership and management skills.

Demonstrated competence in budgeting/accounting processes and interpretation of financial information.

Experience coordinating and implementing projects, goals, and initiatives.

Ability to develop student-centered leadership programming.

Preferred Qualifications

Understanding of MSU organizational structure, policies, and procedures.

Experience with program assessment.

Experience developing and coordinating events, workshops, and trainings.
