LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Full Time Bookkeeper to work for a great organization in the Bay Shore, NY area.
Job Title: Bookkeeper
Key Responsibilities:
Record financial transactions using accounting and mortgage software - SAGE 300, FICS Mortgage Servicer.
Maintain accurate financial records for all receivable transactions, including mortgage and rental receivables.
Entry of weekly payroll in accounting software.
Assist in preparing vouchers, reviewing account coding, and processing check runs across multiple entities/funds.
Process payments received via cash, checks/money orders, or electronic transfers for multiple entities/funds.
Maintain and reconcile accounts receivable records; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
Follow up on overdue balances with late notices and coordinate with property managers and third-party agencies for collection.
Generate and distribute monthly coupons to clients as needed.
Prepare accounts receivable reports, aging analyses, and other financial reports.
Organize and maintain up-to-date financial documentation, including vendor payments (scanning and filing).
Support year-end closing processes.
Assist the CFO and external accountants during audits.
Prepare year-end tax filings (e.g., 1099s and 1098s).
Perform other duties as required to support the Accounting team.
Qualifications:
Strong understanding of bookkeeping practices and accounting principles.
3-6 years of relevant experience as a Bookkeeper.
Experience with SAGE 300 and FICS Mortgage Servicer preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Self-starter with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication skills.
Professional, organized, reliable, and detail-oriented.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Capable of working independently and collaboratively.
Associate's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
