aVenue Event Group is seeking a driven and versatile Local Corporate & SMERF Event Sales Manager to join our team. This role blends proactive sales with hands‑on event planning and execution, with a strong focus on local corporate (Orlando), social celebrations and lifestyle events. The ideal candidate is equal parts relationship‑builder and detail‑oriented planner—capable of converting leads into contracted events, managing event logistics, and delivering exceptional client experiences across our exclusive venues.
Key Responsibilities
Convert inbound inquiries, leads, walk‑ins, and phone calls into contracted events.
Cultivate new social business through outbound sales, networking, and marketing initiatives.
Host site visits, tastings, and client entertainment experiences to close business.
Maintain and update CRM software to track leads, client communications, and event progress.
Forecast sales activity weekly and maintain a personal book of business.
Implement client retention strategies to convert first‑time clients into repeat celebrations.
Event Planning & Execution
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients from contract through event day.
Collaborate with clients to understand their event goals, vision, and requirements.
Assist with vendor selection, budget management, and upsell opportunities.
Create and distribute comprehensive event documentation (timelines, layouts, BEOs).
Manage staff for our venue coordinators for on‑site support.
Lead on‑site event execution when required, troubleshooting and ensuring seamless delivery.
Supervise and support venue coordinators during assigned events, providing leadership and guidance.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong background in event sales and planning, with proven success in social and large groups.
Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building abilities.
Creative and strategic thinker, with the ability to identify upsell and growth opportunities.
Experience leading or mentoring team members preferred.
Degree in Hospitality, Marketing, Event Management, or related field preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary:
Starting at $40,000+ annually (can increase with experience) with competitive commissions
Benefits:
5 Weeks of PTO, holiday pay, and additional benefits after the successful completion of the 90‑day probationary period.
