Finance Managers work directly with sales staff to facilitate a highly professional approach with each client. Facilitate the sale of cars or finance products.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent
Association of Finance and Insurance Professionals (AFIP) certification or ability to complete course within 90 days of employment
Valid California driver’s license and insurable
Proven understanding of vehicle financing and proven sales closing technique experience
Previous finance or sales experience a plus
Tekion experience a plus
Knowledge of Dealersocket CRM preferred
Effective communication skills in dealing with customers, employees, and business partners; ability to communicate enthusiasm for vehicle brands; excellent
Customer service, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills
Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, superior time management skills, ability to work as a team and with minimal supervision
Flexible and ability to adapt to the demands of business needs
Able to acquire any additional proper licensing and certification
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Stay current and maintain proficiency with DMV regulations, processes and procedures, including locating and applying California state law governing the titling and registration of vehicles
Ensure compliance with consumer disclosure laws applicable to financial product and service providers, including Truth in Lending Act, Equal Credit Opportunity
Act, Rees-Levering Motor Vehicle Sales & Finance Act, and California’s Vehicle Leasing Act
Safeguard confidentiality of customer information by compliance with federal and state privacy and data protection laws, including: Fair Credit Reporting Act, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, Fair & Accurate Credit Transactions Act, and Red Flags Rule
Establish and maintain positive working relationships with all sources of finance and insurance products, including factory, vehicle lenders, and third-party vendors
Maintain comprehensive, current knowledge of entire finance and insurance portfolio available to customers, including lease specials, finance rates, service contracts, prepaid maintenance, GAP insurance, tire & wheel protection, key replacement, interior & exterior protection, anti-theft products, lease damage waivers, engine warranties, and bundled ancillary products
Learn, keep up-to-date, and comply with all policies and procedures promulgated by vehicle manufacturers, lenders, and third-party vendors, including participation in trainings required by dealer, manufacturers and lenders
Persuasively present finance and insurance products to customers by detailing available options to enhance vehicle ownership or leasing experience thereby achieving product penetration targets
Verify accuracy of deal structures to ensure compliance with lender program guidelines, policies and procedures prior to contracting with customer and submitting to lender for approval; ensure deal paperwork is completed accurately and is compliant with local, state and federal guidelines
Package deals with required documentation to ensure timely funding of contracts, prompt completion of titling/registration processes, and delivery of deal files to dealer business office
Submit deals to lenders for approval, including knowledge and competency with various electronic submission formats used by lenders, whether through encrypted email, portals or Dealertrack, BMWFS and any other Lender Portals used by Company
Review and inspect the flow of the F&I department’s paperwork on a daily basis to ensure timely turnaround on all deals as well as the accuracy of all documents produced within department
Ensure that all funds are collected from customers for each transaction, including observance of and compliance with dealer guidelines for safekeeping of funds
Attend, complete and maintain all manufacturers required training to stay compliant with their requirements under dealer agreements
Must keep updated AFIP Association of Finance and Insurance Professionals (AFIB) training
Understand and utilize a menu selling system determined by the dealership
Perform other job-related duties as assigned by corporate management
