Summary
This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services (CMCS), Managed Care Medicaid Group (MCG). As a Supervisory Health Insurance Specialist, GS‑0107‑15, you will direct staff responsible for the development of Medicaid Managed Care policies, including overarching program, financial policy, program monitoring and oversight, and operations.

Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short‑term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion. Lead development, monitoring, enforcement, and evaluation of regulations, policies, procedures, State Plan Amendments and other guidelines for States in designing and implementing Medicaid Managed Care programs. Serve as Group Deputy Director / 2nd line manager directing staff on Medicaid Managed Care policies, including overarching program and financial policy, program monitoring and oversight, and operations. Provide executive leadership: administer key national program policies and procedures; oversee projects implemented across MCG divisions; when the Director is absent, assume responsibility for MCG operations. All qualification requirements must be met within thirty days of the closing date of this announcement. To qualify for GS‑15, you must demonstrate at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS‑14 grade level in the federal government, obtained either in the private or public sector. The experience must include: Lead and oversee a national and/or statewide healthcare, public welfare, or managed care plan serving low‑income families, adults and children, including program and financial policy development and program monitoring/oversight. Occupy a senior leadership position that includes negotiation and collaboration with senior officials on complex national or state health care, public welfare, or managed care issues. Direct the development or editing of technical and non‑technical documents such as health care program policies, guidance, decision papers, regulations, and other guidance documents. Experience includes paid, unpaid and volunteer work (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps). All qualifying experience, including volunteer experience, will be credited. Education
