Summary
Position: Budget Analyst, Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Air and Marine Operations (AMO). Location: Washington, DC. Grade: GS-12 to GS-13. Salary range: $101,401 – $156,755 per year. Permanent, full‑time. Open: 11/03/2025 – 11/07/2025.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and provide budget strategy recommendations and analytical support to AMO program offices and executive leadership during the development and justification of AMO’s out‑year budget requests to DHS, OMB, and Congress.
Coordinate, develop, and brief program budget justifications and resource management presentations.
Analyze and research financial resources to align them with mission objectives, goals, and priorities.
Assist in analysis and research to align financial resources with mission goals, objectives, and priorities.
Provide technical assistance and support headquarters staff in a variety of matters related to budget management.
Represent the branch/division and gather information at intra‑agency meetings and forums.
Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-11 for GS-12 or GS-12 for GS-13 in budget analysis, financial analysis, or a related field.
Experience performing duties such as preparing budget documents, analyzing and interpreting legislative and regulatory decisions, and providing recommendations on resource allocation.
U.S. citizenship; male applicants born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with Selective Service.
Required to pass a background investigation; CBP drug‑free workplace compliance.
Proficiency in office software and strong written, verbal, and analytical skills.
Conditions of Employment
U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years (unless eligible for a residency waiver).
Travel: occasional, none required for remote work.
Telework: not eligible.
Security clearance: Not required.
