Summary
Position with the Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection, Border Patrol Headquarters, Program Management Operations Directorate, Washington, D.C.
Overview
Open for application from 11/03/2025 to 11/07/2025. Salary range: $142,488 – $185,234 per year (GS‑14, Step 1–10). Permanent full‑time position. Requires occasional travel. No telework eligibility.
Duties
Provide significant analysis for PMOD programs with communication gaps, enhancing CBP operations and officer safety.
Manage construction, deployment, and maintenance of border technology projects.
Plan, coordinate, and control border technology projects on behalf of USBP.
Direct project activities, including operational availability analysis, configuration management, and asset management.
Oversee planning and timely execution of major boundary technology repairs and projects.
Develop and maintain organizational structures, improve management methods, and propose solutions to management problems.
Create internal controls and procedures to improve cost effectiveness and streamline operations.
Requirements
U.S. citizenship.
Selectively registered with Selective Service if born after 12/31/1959.
Primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years.
Background investigation required.
Must pass a CBP drug‑free workplace drug test.
Financial disclosure required.
Non‑eligible for bargaining unit.
Conditions of Employment
Compete for GS‑14 salary with locality pay as per the Federal Pay Table.
Must meet required experience and education to qualify for the grade level.
Beneficial approval for VA, Military Spouse, Office of Personnel Management CTAP, ICTAP, RPL, and land‑management employees as applicable.
Applicants must submit SF‑50(s) if a current or former federal employee.
Qualifications
At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS‑13, performing program management duties such as budgeting, strategic planning, and project oversight.
Experience with complex problem solving and technical authority on budget formulation.
Demonstrated ability to develop guidelines and manage program resources.
