The
Accounts Payable Specialist
is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices and payments, supporting the finance team in maintaining compliance and operational excellence. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent follow‑up, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced biotech environment.
Key Responsibilities
Process vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Perform 2‑way and 3‑way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receipts.
Initiate ACH and wire transfers for vendor payments.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
Support preparation of AP aging reports and assist with monthly close activities.
Prepare journal entries and accruals related to accounts payable.
Collaborate with internal departments and vendors to resolve payment issues.
Maintain accurate records of all AP transactions.
Maintain compliance with internal controls and company policies.
Assist with audit requests and provide supporting documentation.
Assist with process improvements and special projects as needed.
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of accounts payable experience.
Experience with NetSuite preferred (other accounting systems will be considered).
Prior experience in biotech or a related industry preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; or equivalent experience.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent follow‑up and follow‑through abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
