A growing construction firm based in Princeton, NJ is seeking a detail‑oriented, experienced Accountant/Bookkeeper to oversee accounting operations across multiple entities. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring timely reporting to management. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment and be skilled at managing multiple sets of books simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and complete financial records using QuickBooks for multiple legal entities.
Process and reconcile intercompany transactions and allocations.
Maintain and standardize chart of accounts and coding across entities.
Manage daily bookkeeping tasks, including journal entries and reconciliations.
Handle accounts payable: enter vendor bills and process payments.
Handle accounts receivable: create invoices and post payments.
Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
Prepare and post monthly adjusting and closing entries.
Provide weekly payroll information (hours, new hires, rate changes, time‑off) to third‑party payroll provider.
Communicate with internal staff to gather payroll data as needed.
Reconcile general ledger accounts and maintain supporting documentation.
Track costs and reconcile intercompany transactions.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel (required).
Experience managing multiple entities and intercompany transactions.
Prior experience collaborating with outsourced CPA firms or auditors.
Familiarity with job costing in a construction environment.
