Overview

Waterfront Aquatics Director, Camp Grossman — JCC Association of North America. Lead the waterfront program, ensure safety, and inspire a love for swimming, boating, and water safety among campers. This is a leadership role guiding aquatics operations in alignment with JCC Greater Boston standards and procedures. Responsibilities & Duties

Oversee all day-to-day operations of the Waterfront and provide beach presence for staff and campers to ensure safety and excellent customer service. Manage season opening and closing, staff scheduling, payroll, and supervision of lifeguards, swim instructors, and waterfront staff. Coordinate staff, camp participants, and waterfront schedules; ensure proper staff-to-participant ratios for free and instructional swims. Orchestrate swim class logistics, track progress, and manage class enrollment and skill progression. Communicate with families about student progress and inquiries regarding swim lessons. Ensure class curricula follow LKSA model and that safety protocols and equipment (PFDs, lifejackets, lifeguard tubes, etc.) are maintained. Train and manage waterfront staff in swim programming and emergency procedures; maintain emergency action plan documentation. Act as Aquatics liaison across JCC Greater Boston and Camp Grossman campuses; facilitate handoffs for aquatics programs. Collaborate with other departments to uphold safety, customer service, and camper experience. Performs other duties as assigned. Standards & Values

Education and Experience: BS in Health, Fitness and/or Recreation required; minimum of three years of aquatics experience. An equivalent combination may satisfy criteria. Certifications: Red Cross Waterfront Lifeguarding, CPR, First Aid and AED, LGI, LKSA. Must be a proficient swimmer capable of water safety rescues. Skills: Management and supervision, computer skills (email, Word, Excel), scheduling software and CRM proficiency, ability to coordinate with multiple departments, excellent customer service and communications skills. Other: Ability to work nights, occasional weekends, and be on-call when not on premises. May be year-round in the Aquatics Department depending on qualifications. Benefits & Salary

Exempt, full-time seasonal role during the camp season (June 29 – August 28); Monday–Friday schedule.
