The Financial Systems Support Manager leads the Financial Systems Support section within the Department of Adult Correction (DAC). This role is responsible for overseeing technical and functional support for the North Carolina Financial System (NCFS), serving over 1,300 users. The position ensures the effectiveness, efficiency, and compliance of DAC’s financial systems and related operations. Management Preferences
Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Proven experience managing financial systems in a large organization. Strong understanding of mainframe software and system interfaces. Knowledge of governmental accounting practices and fiscal policy. Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
Manage and support NCFS and related financial systems, including Net Plus, Core Banking (Cash Management), NC Exporter, NCID, Inventory modules, and ERP platforms. Analyze existing accounting systems and fiscal operations to assess functionality, identify improvement areas, and implement solutions. Oversee system interfaces and ensure alignment with departmental fiscal policies and procedures. Supervise a team of two Business Systems Analysts and three Business Systems Support Specialists, and two User Support team members. Ensure timely helpdesk support and issue resolutions for financial systems users. Develop, update, and enforce policies and procedures related to financial systems security and operations. Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Purchasing, MIS/Network teams, and the Office of the State Controller. Serve as the primary point of contact for inquiries related to NCFS and associated systems. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits. Minimum Education And Experience
Bachelor’s degree in discipline related to the area of assignment from appropriately accredited institution and four years of progressive experience, one of which includes the demonstrated ability to lead and supervise in the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
