Full Time Assistant Store Manager (Store 1167) at GameStop. This role supports the Store Manager in all facets of store operations and develops a sales culture focused on guest service and gaming knowledge. Responsibilities
Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests promptly, respond to questions/concerns, assist with video gaming needs, inform guests of promotions, recommend additional items, and thank guests for shopping at GameStop. Support the shopping environment, including visual/operational elements and current sales initiatives, to foster guest relationships and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns accurately using the POS system; ensure correct changes, receipts, and high-quality guest service. Respond to guest comments/questions in person or by phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop guest benefits (e.g., title reservations, trade‑in, Pro Rewards). Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates on policies and procedures. Monitor associate performance and provide timely feedback; ensure alignment with company and store guest service standards. Recognize and document associate performance in collaboration with the Store Manager; maintain onboarding, training, and compliance readiness prior to shifts. Ensure knowledge of policies, inventory, loss prevention, safety, and ethics. Coordinate scheduling with the Store Manager, manage breaks/meals, and maintain optimum staffing for guest service. Approve payroll, manage time off, and verify accurate compensation for associates. Ensure store cleanliness, organization, and proper merchandising; maintain working fixtures and equipment. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily. Protect assets through inventory control and loss prevention; address concerns at closing or end of shift; report to the Store Manager as needed. Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals; perform required administrative and operational duties. Conduct inventory counts, stock/restock as needed, and organize products on the floor. Count and balance daily transactions in the POS system; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits as required. Verify shipments for discrepancies, record variances, and communicate with management. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls promptly; label boxes with packing lists. Maintain guest and associate safety; report injuries per guidelines. Maintain organized store records/files and up-to-date manuals. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to GameStop policies and the Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct; follow opening/closing procedures. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. EEO notice:
