This position is located in the Office of Administration. You will: Serve as the technical expert on executive protection and safety and security of the Secretary and Deputy Secretary, visiting dignitaries, or others designated by the Secretary on short notice. Oversee investigations of actual or alleged threats against the Secretary, Deputy Secretary, and other Secretarial Officers; recommend threat/danger level. Maintain and update the executive protection program and institute contingency measures. Keep HUD management officials and executives apprised of the program. Oversee and coordinate Protective Services in advance protection surveys for individuals vital to continuity of government and national security.

The official duty station will be in Washington, DC. Failure to report may be grounds for disciplinary action. Key Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National. Probationary or trial period may be required. Continued employment may require supervisory certification. One year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required. Must successfully complete a background investigation. Declare Federal employment suitability when requested. Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer for salary. Male applicants born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with Selective Service or exempt. Complete PIV process with two forms of ID (Form I-9). Verification of identity and employment eligibility is required. Use a Government-issued charge card for business-related travel. Submit to drug testing pre-employment and random testing. Pass a pre-employment physical examination. Incumbent must be able to operate a motor vehicle; valid driver’s license required. Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date. Specialized Experience:

For the GS-14 grade level, one year of specialized experience at a level equivalent to GS-13. Specialized experience includes: Providing close personal protection to a high-level official; and Leading a team of physical security specialists responsible for executive protection operations; and Coordinating threat and advance site security assessments with law enforcement agencies. Experience may be gained in public, private, or volunteer service. Indicate dates of employment and hours per week on your resume. Time-in-Grade:
