Duties
Conduct law enforcement duties as an official under Title 40 US Code, Section 1315.
Serve on Facility Security Committees as senior FPS representative providing guidance on physical security, investigations and law enforcement.
Supervise a geographically dispersed workforce ensuring overall work products based on operational and organizational goals.
Plan, schedule, coordinate and monitor the operational effectiveness of staff based on organizational goals and milestones.
Interact with local, state and Federal law enforcement officials to ensure effective exchange of accurate crime data and related information.
Qualifications
GS-13 level: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable to GS‑12 in federal service (public or private) performing duties related to physical security, investigations or law enforcement.
Time‑in‑grade requirement: 52 weeks at the next lower grade for the GS‑13 level.
U.S. citizenship and successful background investigation, including a Top Secret clearance.
Successful completion of required law enforcement training (CITP/UPTP, AITP, PSTP).
Physical fitness appropriate for arresting duties; ability to carry a firearm and maintain proficiency.
Conditions of Employment
U.S. citizenship.
Pass a background investigation, credit check and drug test.
Selective Service registration required for males born after 12/31/59.
One‑year probationary period for new supervisors.
Travel required up to 11 nights per month.
Permanent full‑time position, non‑bargaining unit.
Top Secret security clearance required.

SF‑50 or other proof of current federal employment status.
DD‑214 for veterans.
Evidence of Selective Service registration or exemption.
