About The Team
The Central Merchandise FP&A Forecasting team partners closely with Merchandising, Supply Chain Finance, SBU Merchandise Finance, Segment Finance, and Accounting to deliver on Walmart U.S.’s financial objectives. We are a collaborative, data-driven group that provides critical financial guidance and analysis to support strategic initiatives and long‑term planning. As a key member of this team, you’ll help ensure financial discipline, drive continuous improvement, and support Walmart’s mission to help customers save money and live better.
What you'll do
Lead and execute forecasting activities for Walmart U.S., consolidating and analyzing financial projections across all fulfillment channels.
Serve as a strategic financial advisor to the SVP of Merchandise Finance, preparing robust financial analysis, scenario modeling, and recommending financial targets.
Develop and present financial results, business performance metrics, and actionable insights to senior leadership.
Conduct variance analysis, investigate business drivers, and provide clear recommendations to address risks and opportunities.
Collaborate with cross-functional partners to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives.
Leverage digital tools and channels to enhance FP&A processes, reporting, and insights.
Support community outreach and sustainability initiatives as part of Walmart’s broader mission.
Additional Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field and 4+ years of experience in accounting or finance (or 6+ years relevant experience); MBA highly preferred.
Deep expertise in strategic FP&A, with a focus on long-term planning, forecasting, and analysis in a large-scale, complex environment.
Proven experience leading and completing cross‑functional projects, ideally within a Fortune 100 finance organization.
Advanced analytical and financial modeling skills, with the ability to synthesize insights from various sources and drive business performance.
Strong communication and presentation skills, able to convey complex insights to senior leadership and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence without authority, aligning cross‑functional teams around common goals.
High attention to detail, organizational discipline, and a sense of ownership, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
